Michele Rosewoman’s New Yor-Uba Celebrated 40-Year Anniversary at Dizzy’s Lincoln Center September 19/20 2023.

New Yor-Uba debuted at the Public Theater in 1983. With the addition of bassist Yunior Terry who has an extensive history with the ensemble, and with new member vocalist/folklorist Roger Consiglio, the ensemble played to a packed house both nights.  Throughout its 40-year history New Yor-Uba has continued to evolve through new repertoire and personnel.  Master folklorist Roman Diaz has been a featured member and vital collaborator for the past 15 years.

New Yor-Uba plays forever in honor of the great Orlando ‘Puntilla’ Rios (ibae).
